Where is the chocolate? This thesis is driving me craaaaaaazy!
Things left to do:
- write a two-page introduction
- write a two-page status questionis (<– not sure I spelled it right, though…)
- finish my chapter on cultural memory theory
- finish my chapter on Leon Uris’ novel
- write a conclusion
- proofread
- submit
So again, where is that chocolate???
(Sorry trusty readers, for keeping those awesome buttercream recipes from you!)

Hi Nila,
just wanted to send you best wishes for the last stretch. I wrote a thesis, too, a few years back (on Edith Wharton) and I think I know how you feel. Look at how far you ‘ve come and at what is waiting for you. In the meantime we here are not going anywhere.
Thinking of you!

Thank you so much Fortune Cookie! Though I haven’t been able to answer your encouraging comment until now, I did read it and it really helped me to stay focused! And yay, my thesis is submitted now! Back to blogging 🙂

Hi. I saw your comments about a ‘new buttercream’ using flour. This recipe is one of the absolute best (THE best, in my opinion) but has been around for probably 70 years or much longer. It’s the main frosting that most of my customers love at my bakery. If you get time, we’re on Facebook under Dolce Mia’s Bakery in Butler, PA. I really love your site here! Thanks.

Thanks Maria! You’re absolutely right: flour buttercream has been around for a while 🙂 And I’m not surprised that it’s the most popular frosting at your bakery. It’s awesome!

I learned this through generations from my Italian family.
