Time for a nice recipe round-up. What deliciousness did I make about a year ago, in March 2015? Heads up: this is going to be good!
But first, an honest question: am I the only girl who doesn’t like to go shopping for clothes? I know, this has nothing to do with a food blog. I’m dramatically off-topic here. But still, am I? My mother-in-law and I went shopping today for Baby Boy. He’s gotten soooo big, you wouldn’t believe it! Anyway, we had a really good time. We shopped around for tiny socks and pants and what not, had bagels and mint tea for lunch, went to the library to return some books, gossiped a bit about our significant others… It was fun!
My point is, I like shopping for my little one. I like shopping for the Rocking Rebel. I also don’t mind tagging along when one of my sisters goes shopping for clothes. I just don’t like shopping for my own clothes. Why not? Well, for starters, I don’t like trying things on. Trying new clothes always makes my hair static and cling to my face. Secondly, clothes just don’t fit. More often than not when I try clothes on in the store, I find myself in some cramped, smelly dressing room, with hair clinging to my face, wearing something that looked really good on the headless (!) mannequin, but somehow looks totally weird on me. How? You’d think that the fact that I actually have a head would count in my favor, right? Also, I can never seem to find what I’m looking for. Which is why I always wear jeans and a T-shirt. Always!
So. Am I alone in this? Or are there other girls out there struggling with these problems? If so, let’s start a club! Let’s shop for each other to avoid shopping for ourselves! Let’s eat cake and cookies and ice cream together. You know, now that we’re friends and everything. Or Apple Cookie Crumb Cake and No-Bake Chocolate Nutella Cheesecakes. Because they are delicious!
Pheew. That’s it. Just needed to get that off my T-shirt-clad chest π
Back to business. Let’s have a look at those two to-die-for recipes.
1. Apple Cookie Crumb Cake
This cake is amazing! The Rocking Rebel makes it about every other week. For himself. And oh all right, I can have a piece too, he’d just rather I didn’t. I don’t mind, really. I know how deep a food love can be. And the Rocking Rebel just seriously loves this cake, which crust is kind of a mix between cake and cookie. Hence the name: cookie crumb cake. Actually the ‘crumb’ part of the name refers to the topping, which is basically this delicious crumbly streusel. But the crust part of this cookie cake holds the middle between a crumbly, buttery cookie and a buttery, fluffy cake. Yum!
Oh, and there’s apple in there too. Because apple. Apple is the best! Especially paired with cinnamon and salted caramel. Yum, yum…
2. No-Bake Chocolate Nutella Cheesecakes
Speaking of yum, these no-bake chocolate Nutella cheesecakes are sooooo yum! And really easy to make, too. And so cute served in Nutella jars. The crust is made with Oreo crumbs, the dark brown layer is the chocolatey cheesecake part, which has an intense dark chocolate flavor, and the lighter brown layer on top is the Nutella flavored cheesecake layer, which tastes deliciously Nutella-y and hazelnutty. Served with a dollop of whipped cream, toasted hazelnuts and a sprinkle or two of Oreo crumbs, this is such an impressive, sophisticated-looking dessert. Seriously, if your guilty pleasure is eating Nutella straight out of the jar, you’ll love these no-bake cheesecakes!
And to keep up appearances that you are indeed a functioning, responsible adult, it’s just so much better to be found digging into one of these cute little no-bake cheesecakes than it is to be seen eating Nutella straight out of the jar. Even though you and I both know what happens with the Nutella that doesn’t end up in these awesome no-bake cheesecakes π
That’s it, guys! Hope you like these recipes. I’d better be off. I have tiny clothes to wash and fold! I’m also going to raid the Rocking Rebel’s not-so-secret apple cookie crumb cake stash (aka: the freezer).
Next post: Biscoff Frosting.

Oh, I think I need to try Apple Cookie Crumb Cake. Caramel and apples are my happy place.
Regarding shopping, I have 2 words of advice for you. “Online shopping”
First of all, parcels arrive at your door. “Oh a present for me??” Secondly, you can try things on in the comfort of your own home in front of your own mirror. Often shipping and returns are free!! It might change your life!!

Hi Cindy, yes I’ve tried online shopping! It really is the best way to shop for me, although I still think it’s a bit of a pain π
